Application Steps
Please read the details on this page carefully prior to submitting an application.
Complete the New Membership Interest Form (below) by Aug 31st, 2023, 11:59pm PST.
Interested candidates will need to have a free gmail account to access the form below. This will allow them to save, edit and update their form throughout the application process.
Attend one of the mandatory MIT Intake Town Halls in Squamish. Meeting location will be provided by email to those who submit an application.
Option 1: September 12th, 2023, 1900-2100
Option 2: September 19th, 2023, 1900-2100
Following the townhall, those interested in pursuing a volunteer position will be asked to complete a short online course to learn more about SAR in BC.
Applicants will then revisit their application form to include additional information including a course completion certificate. The deadline for this October 1st. 2023.
Select applicants will be notified via email for a panel meet & greet in October. Due to the large volume of interested candidates, not everyone will receive an invitation to interview.
Members of the Squamish Search & Rescue selection team will reach out to your references between Step 4 and 5 of the application process.
Our selection committee uses an objective matrix to select members. Invitations are sent to the top ranking members by early December.
